Military Spouse Appreciation Day 2019

National Military Spouse Appreciation Day is celebrated on the Friday before Mother’s Day in May. This year it will be observed on Friday, May 10th, 2019.

Military Spouse Appreciation Day is a day set aside for us to pause to recognize the military spouses around us who have the greatest impact on our lives and our military communities.

On Military Spouse Appreciation Day we honor the contributions and sacrifices made by military spouses. Their commitment and support help to keep our country safe. America’s military spouses are the backbone of the families who support our troops during mission, deployment, reintegration and reset. Military spouses are silent heroes who are essential to the strength of the nation, and they serve our country just like their loved ones. Read more:

I was lucky enough to grow up as an “Air Force Brat” as my father was in the United States Air Force for 25 years. Our family had great support from the military community, however, the strength my mother provided for me, my brother and sisters and my father was undeniable. Through all the changes (relocating numerous times), unexpected surprises, feeling lonely and feeling thrilled about new adventures, Military life took her to the highest of highs and lowest of lows emotionally. I thank her for her resilience, strength and courage and ability to handle tough situations.
