CDC Releases Guideline/Decision Tree for Reopening Workplaces May 15

Melissa Rothmeyer,SHRM-CP

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released a set of checklists and a CDC Guideline/Decision Tree to help leaders of businesses, schools, child care programs, mass transit and others decide when and how to reopen their facilities after weeks of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This tool is designed to assist employers in making (re)opening decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially to protect vulnerable workers. It is important to check with state and local health officials and other partners to determine the most appropriate actions while adjusting to meet the unique needs and circumstances of the local community.

This tool also assists employers with creating their detailed plans. Recommendations include starting small and expanding incrementally, placing the health and safety of employees first, and being prepared to learn and change.

Don't forget to check with state and local health officials and other partners to determine the most appropriate actions for you while adjusting to meet the unique needs and circumstances of the local community.
